Community stories are at the heart of social change.

FARE’s Amplify Fund sets out to raise community voices about the impact of alcohol to make sure people are put first when it comes to decisions that affect our health.

With your support, local advocates and grassroots organisations can create the change they want to see in their communities.

Together we can create an Australia that is free from alcohol harm.

Australians deserve to have a say in the role that alcohol plays in their lives and communities.

Every day, Australians around the country are putting incredible heart and energy into preventing alcohol harms in their communities.

But all too often powerful alcohol corporations drown out community voices.

Now more than ever, Australians deserve to have a say in the role that alcohol plays in their lives and communities.

With your support our team can work alongside local advocates and grassroots organisations to help create the change they want to see in their communities.

What have we achieved together with your help so far?

  • Clear, mandatory pregnancy warning labels on all alcohol products

  • Stopped Woolworths from building a Dan Murphy's megastore outside dry Aboriginal communities

  • Closed loopholes around online alcohol delivery in New South Wales

What do we want to do?

  • Listen to communities about the challenges they face and the change they want to create

  • Support communities with policy and research, media engagement, government relations and storytelling

  • Amplify the voices of people who are experiencing alcohol harm – when and where it matters most

By pitching in, together our community finds and supports projects that help us move towards an Australia free from alcohol harms.

Who are we?

The Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) is a not-for-profit organisation working towards an Australia that is free from alcohol harm.

We approach this through community engagement, public education, and advocacy campaigns, that are informed by research.

We work in partnership with communities around Australia to improve our collective health and wellbeing.

We operate without fear or favour of the alcohol industry.
